In my sleep deprived state, when googling at 2am, I have come across some incredible websites, Facebook pages and tweet-ups, where I have found the comfort of community more than once. Here is my list of communities worth mentioning.
Kaboutjie
I was originally introduced to Kaboutjie when Lynne sent Axl some amazing gifts. They have an online store that sells everything from novelty gifts, maternity wear and the most adorable kid's clothing. Their store is affordable while still offering some of the best quality clothes that I have ever dressed my munchkin in. However, that is not all... Kaboutjie has a very popular Facebook page, that has more than 30k moms join in chats, support and more. The page managers are always starting relatable conversations to engage their following, which encourages other moms to share their opinions and experiences.
Meg Faure
Well known for her book Baby Sense and being a popular speaker at the Baby Sense seminars, Meg Faure covers a variety of topics. Her newly launched website offers moms a place to read tips and advice from Meg, herself. Follow her on Facebook and Twitter where she hosts regular chats, where you have the opportunity to ask your questions. I love reading other moms' questions and reading Meg's responses.
Purity and Elizabeth Anne's
I have mentioned on a few occasions how helpful I find their website. But seriously, it has helped me with the introduction of solids, understanding constipation and loads more. Their product range continues to grow, and with each introduction, their brand has this family covered more and more. Their Facebook page has weekly topics whereby they introduce you to their product range and discuss how they can help you and your family on the daily basis. Keep an eye out for their recurring competitions where you can be one of the lucky winners of awesome hampers.
Baby Sense
A popular brand that offers some of the most innovative products for babies. I absolutely adore each of their products, but lately, I have been drawn to their Facebook page more and more. I recently spoke to the owner of Baby Sense, who told me more about the vision for the brand. I loved how she said it wasn't about making another sale, if you like her products - great! But she likes that through Baby Sense, she has been able to help moms with the help of other moms. You know what I call that, ey? Community! Post a question or concern on their Facebook page, and they'll share it with the community, for their input. I've found myself answering more and more moms, sharing my stories where I can.
Clicks
Clicks usually has me covered in the beauty department but it was in my 34th week of pregnancy that I discovered more about their baby program. Their site has loads of articles to assist new moms and their Facebook page hosts weekly chats where a qualified paediatrician gives his input and assists moms. Clicks goes the extra mile with their Helping Hands initiative, whereby if your child was born at a government hospital, you are able to receive all of your child's vaccines at no cost. Join their Baby club for vaccine reminders and when in doubt, pop into their clinic where their sister can assist you. P.S If you are from PE, I highly recommend the Sunridge Clicks as the sister is one of the most friendliest ladies and extremely helpful!
