Baby Powder: Is it Beauty or Is it Baby?

Source
This marks the first of my new series called 'Is it Beauty or Is it Baby?' As most of you know, I blog over at Beauty Blog, too and every now and then, my two worlds collide and I struggle to figure whether the post should be posted on Beauty Blog or The Baby Blog. This series will feature products that have multiple uses and will be featured on both blogs as they will be aimed at both readers!

Multi-use products are great because they're budget friendly, convenient and when you run out of the usual item, these multi-use products usually double up and help you out!

To start this series off, we're talking about the multiple uses of ...

Baby Powder!

Dry shampoo - until recently, I have always used baby powder to soak up excess oil at the roots of my hair. Also if you can't find those really small bottles of baby powder, put the powder in a salt shaker, that way you won't end up applying too much to your hair.

Voluminous Lashes - Dust a thin layer of baby powder to your lashes in between coats of mascara. The baby powder adds thickness and length to your lashes by clinging on to the lashes already coated in 1 layer of mascara.

Longer lasting lipstick - Apply one coat of lipstick, place a tissue over lips and dust baby powder around the lip area (using a powder brush). Apply a second coat of lipstick to top it off.

Sand Free Summer - Baby Powder will become your best friend, if you're making your way to the coast this summer. If you're struggling to get the sand off you, apply some baby powder and watch as the sun falls off while you dust the powder all over.

Gym Bag Goodie - Besides using it as dry shampoo after a gym session, remove dampness from your sneakers and gym bag, by adding some baby powder. The baby powder will absorb the odour and sweat, so you won't feel ashamed at your next visit to the gym.

Medi-Fix - Ever nick yourself after a shave and it won't stop bleeding? Apply a little dash of baby powder over it which will help clot the blood and stop it from being a gusher.

Summer Nights - Hate damp sheets from summer nights? Sprinkles some baby powder over the sheets to absorb sweat and keep the sheets cool.

Stop the chafe - put some baby powder between your thighs before a run on a hot day, to prevent chaffing.

Set your makeup - Prefer the matte finish? Use a large makeup brush to apply a tiny bit of baby powder all over your face to set your foundation, remove shininess and create a crisp matte look.

Dry Deodrant - Leave your deodorant in your handbag? Dust some baby powder under your arms to absorb sweat and odour.
